Hello, everyone!
Maybe I've been using the wrong terms for everything, but I cannot find what I'm looking for anywhere! I have all three Boutiques and I have a very simple cabling question as it pertains to the Boutique line.
What is the best cable to connect these to my balanced patch bay? Right now, I have 1/8 to 1/4" TRS cables and it seems like I have to "half-plug" sometimes to discover sounds my JU-06 or JP-08 were making that I didn't even know about (Chorus/Dual?). Should I get an 1/8 to 1/4 TS cable? Should I get a 1/8 TRS to Dual 1/4 TS breakout cable?
I'm sorry if this seems like a silly question, but these effing cables are the last thing eluding me. Same issue with my Volca Beats and MS20 Mini. The Sub Phatty always sounds fine. All my patch cables are TRS. I'm assuming the bay makes the right connections internally.
What are the correct cables to use with Boutiques?

Re: What are the correct cables to use with Boutiques?
On the JP-08, when using the 'Dual' setting, the 'Lower' outputs on the Left channel and the 'Upper' on the 'Right. On the other two Boutiques, the Chorus is stereo. Other than this, the output is mono.
I personally use a 3.5mm TRS jack from the Boutique, split into 2 1/4" TS jacks, taking the L & R channels separately into either an audio interface or stereo keyboard amp.
Hope this helps.

Awesome! I was thinking exactly this. Thank you so much for the help!
Re: What are the correct cables to use with Boutiques?
I bought some PlugLug 1/8" (3.5 mm) audio cables from Amazon, and they are very nice quality ($5.99 each for 4-ft). They sell a variety of colors. I bought blue for the JU-06, orange for the JP-08, and red for the JX-03. The color coding is just personal preference. :)

I connected all three audio cables to a breakout of three 1/8" females to a single 1/8" male, then connected that to a single 1/"8 female split to stereo 1/4" jacks:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VB ... UTF8&psc=1
You can run the 1/4" jacks into your mixer. I have them connected to the Audio In inputs on my KORG Kronos, and I use the Kronos as my master controller, plus I can assign up to 12 internal FX to each voice. My Kronos just connects stereo out to my mixer and monitors.
The Boutiques are in a MIDI chain, with each module assigned to its own MIDI channel. I can set up splits on the keyboard, and then assign MIDI channels to the split ranges.

Hi @tenohtwo - thanks for the links. I had a question for clarity though.
On that PlugLug cable (1st one mentioned), is that Male-to-Male or Male-to-Female as the link indicates? Seems like it you are going to a breakout cable (Female) you would want Male ends?
Thank you.

After much frustration I want to ensure that people are using these correctly.
You need MONO cables for The CV Gate - Out / Trigger
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07L9 ... w_unk&th=1
You can use the stereo cables only on the Output of the device.

Re: What are the correct cables to use with Boutiques?
Found this in an old FAQ (2015):
Q. Do the Boutique series units have stereo output?
The output of the synth sound is monaural.
- JP-08: In Dual mode, the LOWER sound is output from “L” and the UPPER sound is output from “R.”
- JU-06/JX-03: The output of the chorus is stereo.

Which boutique synths have stereo output and which haven't?
Can't find a clear overview unfortunately.

Re: What are the correct cables to use with Boutiques?
I could be wrong, but I believe the ones with effects are stereo and the rest, are dual mono. I know my SH-01A is dual mono and I believe my TR-09 is as well. I have the TR-09 split, so kick comes out of left channel and everything else, from the right.Bahamas wrote: ↑22:41, 12 April 2022 Found this in an old FAQ (2015):

The JD-08 I believe is also stereo.
Either way, I use an 'Insert' cable, with a 1/8" TRS, to dual 1/4" TS, into my interface.
