Updated my JP08 went smoothly just waiting for Roland to release the new MIDI implementation chart and off we go.

Great news!

I've updated all of my Boutiques, 2x JP-08, JU-06 and JX-03 and they are all receiving CC.

Now we just need the MIDI implementation chart, but for those who don't know :

CC 71 is Resonance
CC 74 is Cutoff Frequency

I've not managed to send/record CC data (via USB) from my boutiques to my Reason DAW, anyone else?

I'll check this out with Reason later tonight but does Reason have your Boutique selected as MIDI device in the MIDI channel? Obvious question I know but just in case. Also have you set up the Boutique to send MIDI on both USB and midi cable?

Works fine with Reason and have set the cc assign to 74 in the External MIDI instrument to control cutoff of the jp08 all working lovely jubbly.

I figured out how to send CC data from my Boutiques to my Reason DAW. This takes those little things to a whole new level of fun.

Midi CC output Switches :

[1] No output
[2] Output only to USB
[3] Output only to MIDI
[4] Output to USB and MIDI

1. JP-08 (Hold down DUAL and press 1 (keep holding 1 down, then press [4], then release) Now you are sending CC data from your Boutique JP-08 device from both USB and MIDI.

2. JU-06 (Hold down Chorus 2 and press 1 (keep holding 1 down, then press [4], then release) Now you are sending CC data from your Boutique JU-06 device from both USB and MIDI.

3. JX-03 (Hold down Chorus and press 1 (keep holding 1 down, then press [4], then release) Now you are sending CC data from your Boutique JX-03 device from both USB and MIDI.


In reason you have to add your Boutiques as a Control Surfaces to receive CC data from your Boutique. Make sure that your midi channel is receiving automation.

If anyone is using Ableton Live, it works great via USB midi.

You can use the M4L device called '8 CCs'

I can't think why they omitted it in the original firmware, but I'm glad they've finally implemented it. Opens up many more possibilities now.

Is there any way to make JP-08 sending out all CC data at the same time, so that one can have the whole patch setting on the PC or other external device (a sort of dump)?
