JU-06 Rhodes

Post by Hypernobby »

Has anyone been able to create a credible Rhodes patch on the JU-06?

I suppose you are trying to get E-Piano ....I was just doing the same thing with JP-08
Here is video that helped me
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFqB6LFTfCg
I was able to get close with one osc with sawtooth or better pulse-width wave and use the env1 to control PWM to get better colored attack. However you don’t have two ENV on the JU-06.
The second OSC is set to noise but very subtle levels. I use tight 24db filter with almost full key track. Then I use an external drive / chorus (Zoom pedal) to get the rhodes more authentic. What would help is to have Velo-Sense on filter (that is what the video uses) but unfortunately boutiques don’t have Velo/Filter.

Let us know if you were able to do that. possibly post a sample video on youtube

Thx funktree - great vid.

As you say JU-06 is too limited to follow methodology of vid....i've contented myself with tweaking organ and piano presets on the JU-06.

Getting a JX-03 soon which has two osc's and more modulation options so will be better
