JU-06 How to enable OMNI MODE?!

Post by Gaunitz »

I'v been trying to enter midi OMNI MODE on the JU-06 for a couple of hours.

(Omni mode is supposed to make a synth read midi data from all 16 midi channels.)

I am sending CC 125 (Omni Mode On) from Logic Pro X to my JU-06 (v1.20 = latest firmware) but nothing happens. Or to be more exact: Something happens but it's not entering OMNI MODE.

When this kind of controller data (omni on, omni off, mono mode, poly mode etc) is received, a synth is supposed to turn off all currently playing notes and change the mode. In my case, the notes are turned off alright, but the mode doesn't change.

Anyone that has managed to change between OMNI ON and OMNI OFF modes on JU-06?

Yes, I am sure that CC 125 is sent to the correct midi channel (channel 1)

I'v also tried Mono Mode (CC 126) which doesn't have any effect either

JU-06 midi output mode is USB + MIDI

I've tried both USB and 5 pin DIN midi

Are those modes CC addressable? I was under the impression they are local functions. If you check the implementation diagram then it is not on there...

Thanks for the reply :)

The chart in fact shows that they are MIDI-adressable: Aux messages -> Omni mode on -> Received -> o = Yes
There's even a foot note that describes how the JU-06 should behave when it gets those messages.

Still: If they are not, how to change them in the synth? I can't find any info on that...
