Re: Roland Boutique synths
My local store has demo units so I'm going along tomorrow to try the JP-08 out (which I've pre-ordered).
Re: Roland Boutique synths
I've pre-ordered a JP-08 and a K25-m.
Not a clue when I can collect them.

Re: Roland Boutique synths
I think I've mentioned before that I'll be using the JP-80 to trigger the 08 - I'm hoping aftertouch is supported :) I've been told delivery 'sometime' in November.Tom_1970 wrote:I've pre-ordered a JP-08 and a K25-m.

Re: Roland Boutique synths
I ordered a JP08 through Sweetwater, I received an email today saying that it should be arriving tomorrow.
Can't wait.

Re: Roland Boutique synths
I hesitated about the keyboard.
It fits on my JP-80 perfectly, but since it is can also be battery powered and has a speaker I think it will be table- and laptop synth as well as a synth on the road.
With the Yamaha Reface DX I recently bought it works this way. ;-)

Re: Roland Boutique synths
I did not order the keyboard, it will fit on and be controlled by my JP80.Tom_1970 wrote:I hesitated about the keyboard.

Although kind of tempted to get the little keyboard in the future, I agree it makes it very portable to take anywhere.
Note of interest:
I am not sure how many of these Boutique synths Roland has produced, the Rep. at Sweetwater whom I purchased mine from said that all the models that will be produced have been produced and Roland will not make anymore, so they really are a Limited Edition. Not sure how true that is but it sounds like now is the time to get them?
Re: Roland Boutique synths
Wow...If that is true...it is really bad news for some guys in Countries not considered on the first distribution...richardbates1 wrote:I did not order the keyboard, it will fit on and be controlled by my JP80.Tom_1970 wrote:I hesitated about the keyboard.

well... we'll see
Re: Roland Boutique synths
If they are that limited I guess some are going to miss out on getting a duplicate for poly chaining, unless they act now? That would stink. I cannot imagine Roland would do such a small run like that but who knows.
I wonder what Roland are up to next in incorporating these ACB models of their classic polysynths. Will there be a larger synth featuring all of them? Maybe they will be incorporated into a new Fantom workstation replacement.
With Roland, now it seems the sky is the limit with PCM/Supernatural, ACB and Analog engines.
These are exciting times to me.
Go Roland!

How do you like the DX Reface? I have a DX-7 and I Considered getting one until news of the Boutique synths came out.Tom_1970 wrote:I hesitated about the keyboard.

To me the Reface DX was the neatest out of the Reface line and the only one I am interested.

According to the MIDI implemtation Chart, Aftertouch is a no go. It is not transmitted or received.cello wrote:I think I've mentioned before that I'll be using the JP-80 to trigger the 08 - I'm hoping aftertouch is supported :) I've been told delivery 'sometime' in November.Tom_1970 wrote:I've pre-ordered a JP-08 and a K25-m.

That's what the guy from my music store also said.so they really are a Limited Edition.
He said that he will receive just two of each.
About the Reface DX.
I shared my thoughts on the 'other gear' topic.
