JX-03 strange background noise on chorus

I recently bought the JX-03 as well as the mini keyboard and enjoying the retro sounds. However I can hear a strange hissing background noise whenever chorus is switched even with no notes playing. Is this normal?

The original did the same. Roland recreated the noisy chorus as part of the character of the instrument.

Thanks for the reply. Glad it's just a recreation of the noisy chorus on the original JX3P. For a moment I thought I had bought a defective unit.

Well, noise is noise, no matter if it is a defect or it is a recriation and normally noise / hiss is not wanted in audio. For example I do not like the vinyl sound because it is too noisy. Just my thought.

I have both the JX-03 and the original JX-3p, the chorus noise is not an issue it is the nature of the analog chorus. You could always not use the chorus effect But the chrous effect has a certain chracter that I like. To each his own I guess.

The hiss can be reduced, or eliminated altogether:

System Setting [MANUAL] + [12]: adjust the noise level of Chorus

[1] OFF
[2] HALF
[3] ORIGINAL (default)
