Hello. I've never owned a vintage JX3P, so I don't know if this is intentional.
While editing patches I sometimes run into distortion in the sound. It sounds like an overloaded circuit with loud resonant volume.
I have to dial back the VCA amount and adjust the volume knob at the rear to cut it down.
The distortion is clearly coming from the unit, not the mixer. Seems to happen more often when filter resonance is high. I get the same kind of distortion on my DSI Prophet 08 and is totally normal considering its analog nature.
Also, I'm powered through a USB 1.2 AMP adapter.
Can anyone confirm their experience is the same with their units?
Thank you.

Re: JX-03 Patch Distortion
Hi there
I actually had a similar experience when trying to create a TB-303 type of patch on the JX03. I wouldn't describe the JX03 (or at least, my one) as having a problem though so I think it might be down to the behaviour of analogue circuits ( even ones which only exist 'virtually' !)

Re: JX-03 Patch Distortion
My original JX-3P never distorts...
Re: JX-03 Patch Distortion
I have a ju-06 and if the volume in the back is turned up max, I get a crackling sound on some patches. Not sure if that's normal.

Don't expect a HQ sound from a 4 Alkaline AA battery powered device.

Re: JX-03 Patch Distortion
I recommend using an external USB power pack for cellular phones, that gives always constant 5V until it is discharged

Doesn't matter what I power my jp with, if I turn the volume knob at the back up full the asio is overloaded and cuts out.
