November 2016 software revision

Post by cloudburst »

Regarding the latest Boutique software revision, just in case you hadn't noticed there's more than just firmware...

There are updates to:
- the macOS driver for each of the series 2 Boutiques
- the macOS driver for the series 1 Boutiques
- the firmware for each of the series 2 Boutiques (providing various functional enhancements specific to each of the 3 devices)
- the owners manuals for the series 2 Boutiques by way of a supplementary manual describing the new functionality

Nice one CB! Didn't even know about it!

VP-03:

Sampling threshold
[PLAY/STOP] + [13] & [1]–[16] (default: [8])
This specifies the audio level that causes recording to start automatically.
The higher the value, the higher the level at which recording starts.

Pre-sampling time
[PLAY/STOP] + [14] & [1]–[16] (default: [9])
This specifies the time that is retrospectively recorded before the moment at which recording starts.
The higher the value, the longer the time that is retrospectively recorded before the level specified by the sampling threshold setting is reached.
Higher settings of this value make it easier to capture consonants.

Honestly I've had the VP-03 for about a month now and not even tried using the sampler haha! I suppose now may be a good time to try.

Just want to add something which I missed as well.

For the first generation of Boutiques (JX-03, JU-06, and JP-08), there is an October 2016 update, 1.11 (August update was 1.10):

Update history
[ Ver.1.11 ] OCT 2016
Bug Fix
The following bug was fixed.
When successive Program Change messages having different MIDI channels are received, the patch does not change.
[ Ver.1.10 ] AUG 2016
Additional Function
Transmission and reception of parameters using Control Change is supported.

Yer I never encountered that program change bug, or heard anyone else complain about it, so there's nothing new on the series 1 boutiques really.
