Good MIDI controller for the Boutiques?

I'm looking for some tips on how to best use the Boutiques with my setup. Currently I have a JX-8P sending MIDI into Ableton, and then routing the MIDI from Ableton to the Boutiques. There's a bit of latency in this setup, so I'd really like to go MIDI directly into the Boutiques, but there's a catch - I want to be able to run the same MIDI back through my MIDI controller (currently the JX-8P) and have it copy those messages on to the Boutiques.

I.E.

For playing, recording:
playing MIDI controller -> Boutique -> MIDI, audio to Ableton

And then for playback/fiddling of knobs:
MIDI from Ableton -> MIDI controller -> Boutique -> MIDI, audio to Ableton

I think all this would require is a MIDI controller that's able to copy the input MIDI messages to its output. Does anyone know if this is a common feature? Thanks!

I did write some software to skip Ableton and do the MIDI routing independently, and it was okay, but I would love to have a simpler solution - where I can play the combination of the Boutiques + a MIDI controller as if it was one keyboard (I need those keys!).
