JX-03 Split Mode??!!

I've been playing with my JX-03 again and addressing it with various midi controller numbers.

Not much happened until I got to CC#80. It seems that you can use the split function presumably from the JP-08!!

Enable it with CC#80 (value over 64 to enable) and select the voice to edit with CC#81 (value 64+ to swap to the other one) . It's crazy!

One voice comes out on the left channel, the other on the right and can be tweaked as you'd expect using the controls.

The individual level of each "Voice" is balanced using it's own of the VCA Level control.

Not sure how many voices of polyphony you then get. Probably 2 of each.

Was able to get mad evolving sounds happening that were different on the left and right channels.

I've made a quick audio-only video to demonstrate what this sounds like.

It's a bit noodley and goes on longer than it should but I was in a hurry!

Too bad there are no hidden functions for extra an extra 16 patches on the JX-03.

I guess it's because all 3 original boutiques have the same JP-08 main board inside them (no joke, open up a JX-03 or JU-06 and it says it's a JP-08!). I know all 3 can also do the Juno chorus (cc93?) so if you want your JP module to sound better try that!

Good find. Then it stands to reason that the JU-06 can do it too.

Quite possibly! I don't have my JU here to test it with my Kurz to send the right CC's. Anyone else able to confirm?
