Boutique Decksaver

Post by cloudburst »

Do any of you have a Boutique Decksaver?

If so, can it be used without removing the 5-pin MIDI DIN cables?

Any other comments/observations?

Thanks.

IME with Decksavers, they don't obstruct any cables that connect at the rear and have cutouts for any cables that connect in the top (like the Korg Volca ones) so you can just leave them connected.

The only concern I have is how they fit when your boutique is in a dock, especially the keyboard one. Their web page shows one on a Tr-09, but I'm not sure if that comes in dock like the TR-08. If it does, then the question is, how does it fit on one that's not in a dock?!

Asked Desksaver in January if the cover will fit also JU-06 etc, as they show the TR-09.

This was their answer:

Hi Albert,
Thank you for your enquiry and interest in Decksaver products.
We think it only fits the TR-09/ TB-03.
Kind regards,

Well that was a wrong answer!

The decksaver fits all my devices in the DK-01 or naked (TR-08, VP-03, JU-06, JP-08, JX-03).

The only scenario I've found where the decksaver does NOT work is if a device is docked in the K-25m.

And in response to my initial question - all cables including MIDI DINs can remain connected. What confused me was a dealer site which had pics of the decksaver installed Back to front (and the front has a deeper lip).

Hope this helps everyone.

Hi cloudburst,

that is really good to hear. Thanks for testing it out, it always takes one to actually try it.
Cheers,
Albert
