Is there any way of turning off the transmit channel or stopping it sending midi note data?

I've solved it by loading a blank pattern whenever I've recorded the patterns I've been working on.

thing is i want the tb to play its patterns whilst I tweak live and play with other virtual instruments in Logic X
when ever i switch to another au channel all the midi notes from the tb get played

Setup Logic so it doesn't receive midi notes from the TB-03.

But I hear what you say. It'd be nice to have an option/function in the TB-03 which disables the "MIDI OUT" function over USB.
