TR-08 'INSTRUMENT-SELECT' dial not working

So, I bought a used TR-08 just over a year ago. It was in really good condition and has been running with no problems. Powered it up yesterday and the 'INSTRUMENT-SELECT' dial seems to have stopped working - I can only select AC, bd, Cb, OH and CH. Moving the dial to any other position either doesn't register the change at all, or changes the selected instrument to either AC or bd. Anyone seen anything like this before? I'm on the latest firmware and have tried a factory reset, but it hasn't resolved the issue.

Just to clarify, the 'missing' instruments still make the correct sound (if I play a preset pattern), I just can't select them to add / remove them from the pattern.

I bought a TR-08 yesterday and has exactly the same problem with the instrument select, so I sent an email to Roland.
Have you find a solution to this?

Can't say I have an answer to the issue, but will note that I just had a similar thing occur with my TB-03 pattern select knob the other day.

No, I didn't find a solution. I couldn't find anyone to repair the unit either (because of lockdown), so I ended up selling it for 'spares or repair' on eBay. Sold my tr-09 too and replaced the two with a tr-8s

I also am experiencing this issue. I temporarily fixed it by updating the firmware to the latest version, but it only worked for a few sessions and now it's broken again. Anybody get a response from Roland yet?

Weird, this is a more common problem, then thought? I'm not even sure it could be repaired, these are bare bones digital boxes, no real parts to swap out?

Exactly the same thing happened to my TR-08 this afternoon. Tried factory reset and reinstalling the firmware but still no good.
Anyone found a fix for this?

I can"t believe this machine is still being sold is with with this problem. Same problem everybody else has expressed here .
