Interesting. Now we know the real reason the TR8 expansion pack was killed off.

So this leaves an elephant sized hole in the boutique range starting with a 7 and ending with a 7

My hunch is that we haven’t seen a TR-07 because the Boutique’s CPU isn’t powerful enough to drive an LCD screen for displaying the patterns as well as doing the modelling.

I don't think so, the relatively simple display can't be a big challenge for a CPU ... I think Roland just has priorities as to which devices it considers worthy to appear as a boutique.
