So I own a JP-08. I got it used.
It’s in great condition and it sounds great.
I just ran into a sound issue. That is, when I’ve selected a Square shape wave, and set the pulse width to be modulated by the LFO, I start to hear a clipping sound when playing staccato notes.
It’s a short popping sound, loud enough to be a distraction.
I think it’s because the LFO is resetting, perhaps, for each note I’m playing. The JU-06a has a setting to turn off LFO-resetting; but, the JP-08 does not.
I was just wondering if anyone else encountered this. Or if it’s maybe a defect in the one I have.
To reproduce it:
1) select square wave for Osc 1 & 2
2) turn Pulse width all the way up
3) set LFO relatively high
3.5) Set LFO delay to zero
4) play some notes in succession staccato
5) observe slight popping sounds
I can kind of get rid of the popping sound by setting the LFO delay a bit longer, or lowering the pulse width, but it doesn’t go away completely.

Re: JP-08 PWM LFO popping sound
Hmm. I just powered the JP-08 again and tried to reproduce the issue. The popping sound is not so evident anymore. I’d almost say it’s gone.
