Yeah, it's a shame. While Roland Support replied to my inquiry and said to be looking into it, they clearly give a $hit about the issue. No updates, nothing. Abandoned and left unfixed.

Yup, exactly. The same thing happened with me and a report I put in for the TR-06, which contains no SOLO functionality. I inquired about the TR-06 containing no solo functionality, as I was under the impression that it would work the same as it does for the TR-08 and TR-09. The exact same key functionality is currently unused in the TR-06 and therefore, it could be used to implement solo, like in their other drum machines and I got the same runaround message you did, stating it would be looked into and then nothing and this was years ago. I understand my request isn't a bug, but clearly an omission, one that could and should be implemented, but they just didn't care to make the TR-06 consistent with the TR-08 and TR-09, in terms of functionality and interaction.
