Hello, I used to have a XP-60 with orchestra I & II. Now I have Fantom-S with SRX-06.
The waves are the same between the boards, but the patches are not! The midi files that come with the SRX-06 to convert it to the old/original SR-JV patches do not work on a Fantom-S.
I would like to use (some of) the original patches.
Can someone help me out with this problem?

SRX-06 conversion to SR-JV80 patches
Re: SRX-06 conversion to SR-JV80 patches
The ROM and architecture of the Fantom S are slightly different from the JV series. If you have to have the old patches, you will need to pick up an old JV or XP rack or keyboard unit.
Patch modification and development is very easy on the Fantom using the UI or the editor

Re: SRX-06 conversion to SR-JV80 patches
mucsusn is absolutely right - the engine architecture in S/S88 differs from JV/XP - it is more advanced, but "indirectly" compatible. This means you won't be able to use your old patches, but, however, you can re-program your favorites if you have such skills.
Re: SRX-06 conversion to SR-JV80 patches
The following info comes on CD with the SRX-06.
Use your sequencer software to play back the following reproduction data (in SMF format), and load the data into your instrument.
The reproduction data will overwrite the user sound library.
If there is any data you need in the user sound library, be sure to perform a bulk dump to back up the data before proceeding to load the reproduction data.
Refer to the manual for your device for instructions on how to carry out the bulk dump.
The SR-JV80 reproduction data in each title can only be used by the corresponding SRX title. This data cannot be used with other boards.
All of the data is in the form of self-extracting files.
Double-click the downloaded file to extract.
Compatible models : Fantom, XV-5080, XV-5050, XV-3080, XV-88, XV-2020
I can see that there is no Fantom-S in the list
But isn't there a more simple way to do this than all bij hand?

No.
Well, theretically, someone could write a translating software - but that's probably too much.

Re: SRX-06 conversion to SR-JV80 patches
McA........The listed compatibles all use the same architecture. As Artemio said, unless you have translator software, it must be done manually.

Mucsusn,
What translator I can use in this case and where I can find it?
Thanks in advance.
