what do you think?

Post by hikari »

I have a fantom s and JV-1080. As you know SRX expansions are roughly $219 whereas I can now purchase expansion cards for the JV-1080 for about $129. Is it more cost effective to buy two JV expansion cards or should I stick with buying one SRX expansion and just wait until I save up enough for another?

SRX cards are generally higher quality waves and often come with a lot more of them (along with patches) than you'd get in just 2 SRJVs. In fact, many of the SRX cards are just the best (or sometimes all) of the patches of several SRJV boards put into a single SRX. My suggestion would be to go with the SRX, unless you're looking for specific SRJV sounds that aren't combined into a single SRX.

Cheers,

Strict dollars and cents comparison. SRJV cards are 8 MB. SRX cards are 64 MB.

SRX = $3.43 per MB

SRJV = $16.12 per MB
