On the Roland website, it says about the SRX-08: "As a bonus, a collection of waves from the SR-JV80-15 "Special FX" board have also been added"
Can anyone tell me how much of the SR-JV80-15 is included on the SRX-08, what kind of sounds from the JV board made the cut, and which were left out? Is the SRX-08 worth having if I'm primarily interested in "Special FX"? Would I be better off loading WAV's from the Spectrasonics "Distorted Reality" CD (which I understand the SR-JV80-15 was based on) into sample RAM, and do my own programming?

SRX-08 vs SR-JV80-15.

If I recall, the support documents on the RolandUS website list the waves, and are available in PDF format, so you can do a direct comparison

Thanks!
By the look of it, 122 waves from the JV "Special FX" board made it onto the SRX one. Not counting the "menu" and "rev" variations, the JV board has 144 unique waves. So only 22 waves are really missing.
