Roland GW8 controlled over midi by Yamaha CP33 - sounds are

Hey guys,

I've been playing my CP33 for a few years now, and thought I'd supplement it with the GW8 for a greater range of piano/electric piano etc sounds. However, I've noticed that when a GW sound is triggered/played via the CP33, the sound is considerably quieter and "duller" in timbre - it's almost as if it's a muffled version. I've tried changing velocity settings on the CP, to no effect.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how I might get around this, I'd be very grateful.
