Problem with D-20 synth writing to memory

Post by trumstan »

I have a Roland D-20 multi timbral synth that I love to play. The problem is that I can't get patches saved the way I want them. I can write a patch to a destination, and that works fine, but the tones or timbres within the patch are reset every time.

I edit the patch tones the way I want them, hit WRITE, ENTER twice to turn off write protect, the display reads COMPLETE. But when I leave the patch and come back to it, or turn the unit off, the patch is still there, but the tones within the patch are reset.

I am writing to the internal memory, and don't have any RAM cards for the synth. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
