Registrations enabled

Post by Artemiy »

Hey all!

Since it's a really crappy situation here with spam, I am giving a try with enabling registrations and putting a reCaptcha into them, which we previously haven't tried. Let's see how it works!

Thanks Artemiy
Nice to "see" you here again :-D

Yes, let's hope we have luck with that option ;-)

Cheers,

FWIW, the "Forest is to lawn..." anti-bot question, had me stumped (no pun intended).

It might actually be easier for a well prepared spam bot to get in here than a mere half assed amateur musician, like myself...

I guessed tree, which wasn't accepted. As the question didn't make any sense to me anyway, I believed it when it said that wasn't the answer.

There was allegedly once an IQ test in Britain which had the question;

"Breakfast is to morning as dinner is to ...".

Middle class kids answered "evening". Working class kids answered "mid day", or "noon", or maybe even "dinner time" :). There was only one correct answer, naturally.

Sorry for the slow reply. I didn't know anyone had replied. The default setting for a new member of this forum is to not tell us when there's been one.

I have seen that in other forums, so I probably should have expected it. It still strikes me as wrong. People post in a forum mostly because they want a reply. It's not spamming to send someone a message telling them they've had one; it's what they expected to happen.

I consider myself to be fairly intelligent, and I was very close to giving up. It has got to be one of the most stoooopid things I have ever seen. Along with the sticker on my shaver cable that has a picture of scissors with a cross through them. True.
