New Analogs and Roland

Post by Tarkov72 »

I love analog gear and am pretty happy with this new "analog renaissance" that seems to be spreading around lately (although not necessarily pleased with the "race to the bottom" in terms of cheapness/quality). I'd also love to see Roland create their own take on this. In the analog days, Roland has made some truly classic gear with legendary tone.

I'm not criticizing Roland's more modern gear, I have some sitting right next to me, and of course they should continue to develop their 100% digital lines for the most part. I also don't want them to "re-issue" anything like Korg has done. I just think they could create something cutting edge and new that's analog but would also fit into their "designing the future" motto. I don't think making something new that's analog is designing the past, at least no more than making digital accordions is. Just thought I'd rant for a bit. Anyone agree? It's pretty quiet around here these days.
