A-800 PRO and MIDI clock

Hi, this has me stumped. I have a MX-1 upstream from the A-800 and its set as my MIDI master clock. The problem is that the A-800 doesn't pass the MIDI clock downstream. I've tried all sorts of ideas but can't figure this out. Has anyone encountered this before? Thanks.
