SRX Boards

Post by djkproductions »

I'm an owner of a fully blown out (4 cards) XP-60. Of course, it would've been nice had they made the same fitment, but, NOT!!! Is there an SRX card that kind of covers the full gamut of sounds on every card? ...like a mix of all cards into one?

I guess that having four or five expansions in one is not a bad idea. Remember when Jv-2080 users to reach the best sound set had to fill up the slots paying for 8 boards?
When Roland was introducing the stereo waveforms in these boards, the XV line came out and gave the substitute, the SRX series.
Eaven with the release of the "SRX-01" in 2000, Roland has introduced the SR-JV80-19 in 2001, but the SR-JV80 saga was, suddenly, finished.
In my opinion, the best SRX boards ( with new incorporated sounds) are the "05" and "01". The 05 is because they focused on many hits, some instrument effects, and killer drum sounds; and the 01 is fantastic, since most of the sounds there are from the Spectrasonics's Back Beat.
