Hi all,
So, I got a Roland Juno DS 88 going into a Scarlett 2i2 going into an Alesis RA150 amp going into a pair of Alesis Monitor One Mk2 passive monitors. Not sure why, but the patches, especially piano, on my Juno sounds dull and lifeless. The demo videos I see on YouTube showing the Juno have piano patches that sound rich and warm. Not sure if it's just a matter of tweaking on mine or is it because of the audio interface/amp/monitors?

Re: Roland Juno DS Sound
what sound patch do you use who sounds bad ?
then I can compare the samesound, whit my gear.
how is your settings about effekt part ?
try to connect your gear from juno ds headphone output. maybe the headphone pcb in juno ds, have better amplifier.
so far I only use headphone (akg 240) and the juno ds sounds great.
maybe just adjust the effect in juno ds system-meny

Re: Roland Juno DS Sound
It's basically all of them, but I was using the piano patches in particular.
I don't think I touched any of the effects.
I did plug my headphones into the Juno's headphone output, and it does sound great. If I plug my headphones into the Scarlett 2i2, it sounds dull.

Re: Roland Juno DS Sound
Just off hand, doesn't the Scarlett have mono inputs? Are you loosing stereo when you use it for a keyboard? That would explain why the sound stage is degraded at the headphone jack of the Scarlett.
Re: Roland Juno DS Sound
Not sure i get this right but can't you connect the DS61 to the Alesis amplifier directly?
I have all my synts audio input right into the amplifier - no interface between them.
