Juno DS-88 Favourites and Program Change

I have recently bought a DS88 and in the process of transferring from a FA06 which has been great but I need a full keyboard for the band I now play in.
I am pretty switched on with Roland gear having played on them for years but this has currently got me stumped and I don't believe for one minute that it cannot be done!
Basically, I am using the DS88 as a controller to switch programs on my Nord C1 and program change works fine until I enter Favourite mode and then the program change doesn't work; MIDI channels are set correctly and the prog change works in Performance mode. Gone through the manual but still cannot get to work; its as though in Favourite mode it is not transmitting MIDI prog change info - please tell me that I am wrong and how to do it!!!
