Backup: What's it saving?

Post by AaronPDX1 »

One can backup the Juno DS from the Utility menu, onto flash drive. It saves the system (.SVD) and user data (.BIN). What exactly is it backing up though? In my case the resulting SVD file was <4 MB. Does that include custom samples?

On another note, the backup shows a creation/modification date of 8/1/15, which is bizarre, and I see no way to find the DS's date setting, if it has such a thing...

Roland's response:

"The backup procedure saves all user Patch and Performance data, as well as the system data. Samples are not saved with a backup. The date you mentioned is an arbitrary date (probably when the initial software was finalized for the Juno-DS). Unlike a computer, the Juno-DS has no clock that keeps track of time, so there is not a way for it to know when a specific file is written or edited."
