I wrote a .midnam file for the JUNO-DS

Hey all,I was looking for the .midnam file for my DS88 as well and came up empty. Roland support didn't even seem to understand what I was talking about... So, I wrote one myself - works pretty well - gives access to the DS, PRST & GM patches from within Pro Tools 2019.

I guess you wouldn't be able to map the user or expansion patches since they can vary based upon your device's configuration.

For Macs running Pro Tools, put the file into the MIDI Patch Names folder located at:

/Library/Audio/MIDI Patch Names/Avid/Roland/

If you find any issues with it, please reach out to me. For this work on Mac, I think you also need to add an entry for the DS into the Digidesign Device List.middev file located at:

/Library/Audio/MIDI Devices/Digidesign Device List.middev

I entered the following into the file in the Roland section:

I know it's 3 years later, but I'm trying to set up my JUNO DS88 for use in Digital Performer, and I can't find a midnam file (which apparently I need for the patch names to show up). If your's is still usable, where do I put it?

With digital performer, I’m not sure. I haven’t use that in probably 20 years…
