Controlling part volume level using an asignable knob

Post by vespina »

Anyone knows how to control a performance's part volume level using one of the 4 asignable knobs? This is what I've done so far:
  • 1. In System Settings, I changed the default assignment for the 2nd knob from Mid Eq Freq to Mid Eq Level, and the from the 3rd knob fom High Eq Freq to High Eq Level. This way I can keep a 3-band on board EQ, while freeing the 4th knob for other uses.
    2. I assigned the CC-General 1 message to the 4th knob
    3. In my performance, I assigned part 3 (a pad) to MFX3
    4. In my performance's Effects page, I assigned MFX3 Control to CC-General 1
At this point, my problem is: which effect can I assign to MFX3 so I can control the part's volume level using the knob assigned to CC-General 1? I tried the EQ effect and then mapping the MFX3 control to the Level parameter, but it didn't work.

If this even possible ?
