Audible Hiss while playing

Hi Folks,

I was recently given a DS88 for Xmas and I purchased a Roland KC220 amp to play through. My question is this... when I play any keys in most of the piano sounds I get an audible hiss in the amp. This hiss is not present when the keys are not pressed :(

Is this a know issue or have I managed to get an extra special effect for free :)
