After reading through several posts in this forum, I believe the answer is yes, but I couldn't find the exact answer.
I am eyeing a purchase of Juno DS 76 for use with live performance. I was able to demo things like splits and layers, but would in addition to a patch set up for a split with say strings on left and horns on right, could I have a third sound playable from a secondary MIDI source? In my particular case it would be either a MIDI controller keyboard or Percussion Pad controller. Thanks.

Yes. You can assign sounds to all 16 channels, and trigger some of them from the internal keys while triggering others externally over MIDI. One caveat: the ones you trigger externally will ignore any split points programmed into the board. So if you want to split different DS sounds when playing them from an external controller, you have to create the split on the controller.

Thank you. That's exactly what I wanted to hear.
