4-octave keyboard: Fair enough I suppose.
Max 8-voice polyphony: OK, has a vintage vibe about it, but 12-24 should have been the case.
No keyboard aftertouch: What the hell?
No capability to even receive aftertouch via MIDI: Are you even trying?
Really Roland? Seriously?

Re: Really Roland? Seriously?
Hi,
yes, I wish System 16:
5 (or more) octave keyboard (with aftertouch)
16 (or more) voice polyphony (digital technology)
256 (or more) patch (user memory) for one plug-out
256 (or more) performance (user memory)
8 (or more) expansion slots for PLUG-OUT software synths
Thanks Roland :-)

Well....
Just for fun I drew a imaginative successor of the System-8, the System-48.
- 48 voices
- Voice allocation
- 6 parts performances
- 2 LFO's
- 5 Plugout slots
- 6 slot Mod matrix
- Mod envelope
- In Variation different Plugout modules selectable
- Multi color LED's (shows which model is chosen)
- Midi files can be imported as arpeggio patterns
