1. Any non-Roland classic synths ... seriously, there is nothing preventing this in a technical sense.
2. Especially classic string machines ... Solina, Arp Omni, etc.
3. JX-3P
4. D-50 (if possible owing to requirement for sample snippets)
5. Original Roland modeled-piano and EP (RD-200) sounds from back in the day.

Nothing apart from Roland acknowledging that other manufacturers build great synths and the legal issues involved in copying, modelling and selling the intellectual property of other manugfacturers!

In an ideal world, Roland would make the ACB design software open source, allow third parties to design plug-outs.

My estimate of the chances of wither of these things occurring - significantly less than zero.

There are no genuine legal difficulties. You are correct however, regarding Roland's insular attitude about other brands.
