I recently pulled the trigger and bought an S8 for my aira setup.
I'd been eyeing the system 100 plugout for a while but held back because S&H and LFO2 were not reachable when plugged out to S1.
As it doesn't seem to be mentioned much (I found 1 forum reply): It turns out that S&H, LFO2 and patch routing can be done on S8 through the patch edit menu.
.... instant "buy now" for me!
System 100 S&H, LFO2 and patching on S8 :)

Thanks for the tip! I discovered that not only can you do patch routing through the submenu, but you can also control all the parameters that are not mapped to knobs (like S&H sample rate, LFO2 rate, etc...). Definitely stoked to figure that one out.

Bummer they didnt use the Lfo variation knob to switch between lfo 1, 2 and S&H

It brings us 1 step closer to "virtual modular" without a computer involved.
If it would be possible to patch across plugouts you'd have a monster s100 modular. (I remember this mentioned somewhere)
Then if the roland boffins find a way to virtually modularize JP8, juno and S8 you'd have a modern day nord modular or arturia origin.
Fingers crossed!

Yeah - You'd think they would release a system-8 specific version that makes use of all those blank knobs... Or at least make it so you could map the unused knobs to whatever parameters you wished to control...Manic wrote:Bummer they didnt use the Lfo variation knob to switch between lfo 1, 2 and S&H

You can also use the LFO as a basic 3rd Oscillator - Patch KYBD CV OUT to EXT CV IN (LFO-1) and use the Gain & Offset to scale your octaves.
I wish there was some kind of CV mixer to mix several CV outs for modulation purposes.
