System 8 - No MIDI received in Ableton

Hi, I'm new to the forums. I would appreciate any help here.

I have a Roland System 8 - plugged via USB into an iMac. I have the Roland sound driver installed.

Ableton detects the System 8 and I have set up the Roland as follows:

I am able to send midi to the synth and I can hear audio from the audio out. I can NOT however get Midi from the synth into Ableton. I see no Midi activity light when I play notes on the keyboard of the System 8. I hear sound in Ableton, but no Midi activity.

My Roland System 8 Midi Settings:

I don't know what I need to set or enable to be able to record Midi from the System 8 into an Ableton clip. When I arm the channel and try recording it comes out blank. And, again... I see no Midi activity in Ableton's Midi Activity indicator. I can set up an external keyboard and send Midi to the synth and the audio output routes back into Ableton fine... But I'd like obviously to be able to use the synth directly in certain instances and be able to send Midi events from the synth into Ableton and record them.

I'm not MIDI guru so please take it easy on me.
