OFF TOPIC ... Roland and Malaysia

Post by DaveHorne »

My RD 2000 was made or assembled in Malaysia, I clearly remember seeing that on the cardboard box it came in.

Now I just stumbled upon this article (below) regarding this country and I would think that Roland might give this some thought as to where they want their keyboards made or assembled.

I live in Western Europe, a fairly enlightened part of the world. I'm guessing the enlightenment has not reached Malaysia yet. If I were in charge of a large company I would have second thoughts doing business with a backward country.

The same goes for every other Muslim majority country, parts of Eastern Europe, oppressive regimes like China, large parts of Africa, etc. The world is a crazy place. But I suppose politics is a bit off topic here ;)
