Roland have released a new V-Piano model for the RD2000.
https://www.rolandcloud.com/webview/new ... -Available
This is a purchase item.
There is a new release of RD-2000 firmware to support the new capability.
It is explained in the new RD 2000 V-Cloud manual: https://www.roland.com/global/support/b ... 2a712ea06/
But quick summary here:
Download and update your board firmware to the 2.00 release, https://www.roland.com/us/support/by_pr ... 0dc1ea2cf/
At Rolandcloud.com, create a new free account.
Download Roland Cloud Manager to your computer.
Open RCM, log in, search for RD2000 hardware.
Purchase the RD-2000 V Piano Expansion.
The expansion will download to your computer hard drive.
Move the expansion to a correctly formatted USB stick to install on the hardware.
Even more interesting - the hew firmware shows two new model slots, implying there could be another model coming.

Re: New V-Piano Model for the RD2000
Can anyone point me to how to install the V Piano German into the RD-2000?
I purchased this off Roland Cloud. Updated the instrument firmware, no problem. Tried the process for an expansion (EXP) load (hold ENTER during power on) but that's not correct for this. Didn't really get any guidance from the readme in the VPiano download.
Any input appreciated.
*Moderator* No need to post this. User error. Using memory port instead of USB update port.

Re: New V-Piano Model for the RD2000
Hi there
I was interested in this subject and I found this document.(pdf)
In this document, it is specified to plug the USB key into the port (USB for update) then press (enter) at startup.
It may be an error because in the similar installation of the extensions (Axial) it is specified to use the port (USB memory) then enter.
The document I found online probably has an error.
Try the installation on the port (USB memory) and let us know (make a backup before installing.
Have a good day
Gus

Re: New V-Piano Model for the RD2000
I'm trying to install the new German V.
USB in the UPDATE port
When selecting the slot-SA, it says
"Please check the "USB FOR UPDATE" port.
What does that mean?
It won't let me do anything now

Re: New V-Piano Model for the RD2000
I solved it.
Maybe this will help somebody else.
I did do the 2.0 update and it showed in the system as 2.0
but something did not load correctly apparently. I reloaded the update a 2nd time and the G piano loaded perfectly!

Re: New V-Piano Model for the RD2000
I have solved the problem. You use the RD2000 "USB port for Update" on right side of back of piano. It is the one with the cover on it. It is not the one you normally use to use your expansion.
Saving Files To a USB Flash Drive
* When using a USB flash drive for the first time, you must format it
on the RD-2000.
Ø“Formatting Memory (Format)” (Owner’s Manual)
1. Connect the USB flash drive to your computer.
2. Save the file (M09X01_GrmnCnct.exz) to the root
directory of the USB flash drive.
3. Disconnect the USB flash drive from your computer.
Installing on the RD-2000
1. Insert the USB flash drive you prepared in “Saving
Files To a USB Flash Drive” into the RD-2000’s USB
FOR UPDATE jack.
* The RD-2000 is equipped with multiple USB ports. When installing
the V-Piano Expansion, use the USB FOR UPDATE jack.
2. Turn the power of the RD-2000 on while holding
down the [ENTER] button.
RD-2000 starts at “EXP Update Mode”.
3. Use the cursor buttons to select the slot (SLOT-SA/
SLOT-SB) to add, and then press the [ENTER] button.
File on USB flash drive appears.
* V-Piano Expansion can be installed in either SLOT-SA or SLOT-SB.
4. Select the file to add, and then press the [ENTER]
button.
5. When the message “Are you sure?” appears, press
the [ENTER] button to execute.
* While data is being written, the message “Writing” is displayed. The
data write time is approximately 12 minutes. When the message
“complete.” appears, the operation is finished.
6. Turn the power off, then on again.
This allows you to use the V-Piano Expansion.
Uninstalling a V-Piano Expansion
If there is no free slot, you can uninstall Expansions that are already
installed, and then install the V-Piano Expansion.
1. Hold down the [ENTER] button and turn the RD-2000
on.
RD-2000 starts at “EXP Update Mode”.
2. Use the [à] [á] buttons to select the file to uninstall.
3. To execute, hold down the [SHIFT] button and press
the [WRITE] button.
Selecting a V-Piano Expansion
1. Press the [EXP] button.
Each time you press the [EXP] button, the model expansion
switches to A/B/SA/SB.
* You can check the installed model expansion in “MENU” Ó “System”
Ó “INFORMATION”.
* V-Piano Expansion can only be selected for Zone 1
