Post by Stuart100 »

Hi,

Version 3.5.7 is now on my website.

The software will run on a Mac under Codeweavers Crossover 22.x or higher. Ive changes some of the control colours (buttons and text) so the software runs better under Crossover. https://www.codeweavers.com/crossover

Ive also tidied up the layout of Program Zone Edit/External Zone form.

Documents updated too.

Cheers

Hi,

For completeness Ive added the ability to download from the RD2000 individual Note Character and Level maps from the RD2000. Individual Note Tuning was already there. The latest version and docs are on my website.

Hi Gus,

Thanks for testing.

Ive now added the ability to get the Current Program and Current Tone (by zone) from The RD2000. See updated Program Library and Tone Library forms. Version 3.6.3 is on my website now. Updated docs on my website too.

I always seem to find something else to add :-)

Hi Stuart.
testing version 3.6.3
Library tone and program OK everything works fine for research.
However, I cannot write and save the name of my user programs in the cells. The original base of the programs does not seem to be modifiable by the user.
(the user seems blocked in writing, as soon as I leave the application the modifications are not taken into account)

For program library, is there a way to recover and automatically rename the existing database of programs in batches rather than rewriting them by hand?
is it possible to make a macro command? or authorize writing in this part of the program.

Hi Gus.

You rename them on another form. Scene memo or program name.

Unless you are writing a program - using the 'write' button on the RD - I dont think you can rename a program? This is what makes bulk renaming a problem.

Im not at RD but Im not sure what happens if you use the program name form and try and rename the current program. I dont think it will work but I could be wrong. I think it has to be during a 'write' process on the RD which you would have to do anyway to save it permanently. You cant 'write' using midi.

Hi Stuart.
My user programs are already named, I cannot use the "program name" form I would simply like to update the "library program" database with my personal programs, but writing is impossible and I have no means of doing so .
the "program name" form is designed to write to the RD when in "write" mode on the RD.

Re: RD2000 editor v 3.6.4 free

Post by Stuart100 »

Hi Gus.

Yes the program list is the default list. I can see what you want to do. This would mean reading the 300 program names from The RD one at a time and updating the program list. It would mean sending 300 bank change messages then 300 sysex messages to retrieve all 300 which might take some time? Then saving them in a simple database file on your computer which would update the default table. The latter is the easy is the easy bit. Im not sure how practical this is due to the RD's architecture? You can save all programs on a memory stick but there is no published document which enables you to read it either? The only simple way is to record your programs by Bank/Number on paper and retrieve them that way. Or save them as one of the 100 scenes? But its not ideal.

Meanwhile ive loaded version 3.6.4 which enables you to download the Rhythm/Song parameters. :-)

Hi Gus,

I found a simple way to create your own personal program list. Then Import it :-)

Only down side is you have to create the list of your own programs first. But Ive built a list creator into the program :-)

I will post in the morning.

Hi Gus,

Version 3.4.5 is now on my website.

With this version you can add your own Programs to the default program list and load them on the database. See page 39 of the Documents.

to do this you create your own personal program list using this program. Save it as a text file. Then just load it when you open the form. The new program names will appear in the program list !

Hope this does what you need?

Hi Gus.

Ive tried downloading all 300 program names in a row in one go from the RD by midi. It works but is very slow because of the way the RD handles lots of successive sysex messages. 30 minutes!

Loading a single bank of program names from the RD is very quick and takes under 2 seconds! Note. 15 banks at 2 seconds does not equate to 30 mins. It seems the RD slows to a crawl with lots of sysex messages being sent to it.

I will post version 3.6.6 this evening so you can try for yourself both approaches.

Let me know what you think would be useful :-) possibly select just the banks with your own programs in to download program names? Ovbiously we are just downloading names for the softwares database. The actual programs are in the RD.

Cheers
