Finally the JX-3P has arrived as a Cloud Synth! Yay!

Great, been looking forward to this one for a while.

I hope the JX-8P makes an appearance one day; so much potential locked away without the programmer. Mind you, Martin Lueders PG8X is an excellent VST version of the JX-8P.

Yesterday I spent an hour doing some comparisons between the Roland Cloud JX-3P and the recordings of my old physical 3P (now sold). I tried to reconstruct the same sounds from my notes and compared how they turned out. Actually - not bad at all. In fact, they sound pretty identic. The only difference is that the virtual version does not seem to keep wavering in volume as my synth did (presumably because of the old circuits slowly dying). Also the noise of the chorus, which I initially thought to be heavily overexaggerated on the virtual version turned out to be pretty much the same. I must have been more forgiving for such artefacts at that time, because I never noticed or was bothered by it, while with the virtual version I immeditely turn the noise off.

All in all, this seems to me like an extremely faithful reproduction, on the same level as the Juno.

BTW, I really like that the short name of my own patches (within the ellipsises) end up being "printed" on the main panel. Sweet.
