JV-1080 coming soon!

Post by Manic »

Mark my words.

I don't think it'll be available as a plug-out for the System-8 (as it is sample based).

Will it be the JV1080 or 2080? or even the XV series?

Nice. It was time to launch a really classic Rompler.

One would hope it would be the XV series, to me the JV1080 was not that good of a synth.
As the the JV's evolved into the XV series the sound engines became higher res and better sounding.
I had a JV1080 and couldn't wait to get rid of it, but I thought the XV3080 and the XV 5080 were great sounding machines just hard to program because of having to look into the little green led windows, a software version where all the knobs and sliders would be visible on a larger screen would be great!

And Facebooks. It was talked about by the Roland Cloud Developers weeks ago. Hardly a prophecy.

Another shallow update. Where are the plugouts for the system-8?

I was hoping for some sort of poly pug-out for the system 8, either the Jupiter 6 or a JX model.
Was also hoping for a JD800 VST/AU to be used with a DAW.
Pretty disappointed if this is all they have for the end of Summer, especially since System8 users were promised something for the System8 by the end of Summer? We have 4 more days.

Regarding the plug-out for the System-8, I hope Roland are working on another model that can plug-out the D-50 and other coming Cloud releases. S8 is for Jupiters, Junos and SHs and the JXs too. But they need another piece of hardware for the D-50 and the coming JV synths.

On the 3rd of November I noticed a new product in the Anthology section. It didn't have any info at all - just the name Anthology and a year. Not spoiling it. But I wrote to Roland and they pulled it without saying a word.
Hopefully it's a JX-3P, JX-8P or JX-10 being released before the actual Legacy plugin. They did the same with the D-50 and released the Anthology 1985 (both parts) before the actual D-50 plugin.

Well, a short rant for a first-timer on this forum.

The JV-1080 is now in the Cloud. I installed it today. For whatever reason my DAW doesn't see it but I'll beat it hard enough to notice.

Now it is live in my DAW.....I forgot how complex this synth was, it is mind blowing. When I had the JV1080 synth way back when it was hard to know what was inside? This is a very complicated synth, will take some diving into it. I t looks great and sounds great.

This is fantastic! Got the email and immediately installed it - and I use Digital Performer on the Mac and it popped right up for me.

The sounds are amazing - I have a JV-880 that I still use (and have had for ... ugh, 25 years now :) ), so never really even played with the 1080. Wow ... it is an incredibly powerful beast!

I installed it straight away - some of the patches are unusable today but I do notice it has the JV2080 and XV waveforms too. Hope the SRX expansions start coming.
