Hi,
I try to control my modular system with the Fantom, but nothing is happening.
I connected the cv and gate output to the desired inputs on the modules and followed the instructions in the manual. I select zone 1, assigned CV/Gate to zone 1, but I'm not getting a signal out (both CV/Gate 1 and 2).
I hope I am just missing a crucial setting or something and it isn't a mallfunction that needs fixing.
I checked the other outputs, but it's just the CV/Gate.
I hope you guys prove me doing something stupid and I don't have to send it back to the shop.

Controlling an External MIDI Device.
This unit’s knob operations and keyboard performance can be transmitted as MIDI messages from the MIDI OUT connector and from USB MIDI OUT.
Keyboard data can be output from the CV/GATE OUT jacks as CV/GATE signals. By setting a specific zone to “EXT,” you can use that zone for controlling an external MIDI device.
Since those instructions were given before the ADVANCED configuration become available, I understand not only EXT (green lit), but BOTH (yellow lit) could also be used instead.
Also, there are settings under SYSTEM and SCENE...

I will do some more tests this week and if there is no change I will send a message to Roland support.
Last year I had a problem and that was solved by them in a good way, so I'm confident there will be a solution one way or the other.

What issue you mention was that of last year that was fixed through Roland Support, if you please ?

The Fantom occasionally froze during startup.
Over time it occurred more frequent so in the end I had to send it in for repair.
It came back two weeks later so no complains about their service.
About the analog filter.
I know I struggled with it either.
I don't use it often, but the problem was in a routing setting.
I don't recall any details, but I will look at it when I do my CV/Gate checks.
I will come back to it later.

@FGM Make sure that the Analog Filter is connected to the Main Output in the effect edit menu.

I did that long ago and didn't work.
In fact it stops all sounds in Fantom.
The helping hand for my analog filter question ends here, please, as I don't feel like going through the same check points over and over in an endless circle of madness reaching nowhere...

Cannot say I am seeing you very cheerful with the experiments...
The hard part is discovering a potential issue after many months of use, remembering when I went buying hundreds of CDs at a time (typical Full Collection of...) just to discover a pair of them with damage some three years later.

Whatever the trouble is, I'm pretty confident it will be sorted out.

An update.
I contacted Roland support and after some tips and test they advised me to send it bak to Thomann.
Just received the Fantom back after it being away for a fourth night.
Hooked it up, restored my backup files and connected it to my modular.
It all works like a charm!
Now I can experiment with the Fantom/Matriarch combination it all started with.
