Hi all,
Just want to share my excitement!
I got my Fantom (7) yesterday and of course it was
a long evening :-)
As a long time former user of Fantom X before until 6 or 7 years ago I went with Motif XS after, no bashing) it feels like coming home again with the new Fantom.
I have the 'basic version' 1.4.
Can I go straight upgrading to 2.0?
And I saw a video but can not find it anymore, about installing some older SRX cards (virtually) from the Axial website. How can I do that?
Anymore exploring tips for me? (mainly live gigging, and sometimes compose own songs)
I start to explore scene chains, group switch keys etc.
Thanks in advance.
Okay, I go on with the fun :-)
CJ
Excited with my new Fantom since yesterday!

Yes, upgrade to the latest version. Follow instructions carefully. Use 16Gb or smaller flash drive. Did I mention to follow upgrade instructions carefully? Congrats!

Re: Excited with my new Fantom since yesterday!
Thank you so far FGM and Devnor !
Yes eventhough I did watch a lot of information videos and read this forum ( ;-) ) and FB-group I have to admit that with my new Fantom it's all overwhelming, and I mean this in a positive way :-)
There are so many things I want to explore, but in the mean tie I try to keep on realizing I have many years from now on to take my time to learn a lot about this amazing machine (same like when I had the Fantom X (you learn through the years) .

Enjoy! The expansions are all downloaded via the Roland Cloud app, as are the SN pianos and EPs.
Re: Excited with my new Fantom since yesterday!
Remember there is the option to select all expansions you pretend to install using SHIFT... they will install altogether in a simple single step.

Thank you all for the info and tips !
I am 'busy' exploring :-)
Some things that came up to me:
- Can I upgrade straight from my 1.04 vesion to the latest 2.01 without any hassles ?
- I want to import some one-shot audio-samples. Will I have to keep on sticking in the USB-stick then or once it is imported in the Fantom it stays in the Fantom ?
- Somehow I can not find anymore that short video of Ed Diaz explaining how to install (all) SRX sounds.
I am happy with my Fantom :-)

Oh I found it, the SRX/EXZ expansions installing video I meant was this one, and not with Ed Diaz :
