FANTOM and V-DRUMS

I've considered adding a TD-17KV V-Drum Kit to my FANTOM centered setup. Although the TD-17 drum module comes with L/R Outputs, it also has audio over USB capability. However, browsing the manual, I see that this feature requires use of a vendor driver from a DAW to work. I'm not interested in using a DAW. I want to use it directly with the FANTOM. Since these are both Roland products, would it be possible to transfer audio over usb if I select generic driver for both units?
