Agree on the fact that this is a huge instrument, and need centuries to master it.

But, in my case, a few things are impacting productivity/creativity and fun... that is the reason that I do not need any revolutionary innovation, but just adopting 3 things already available in the current Roland line of products: editor/librarian (JunoX, JupiterX, MCs, etc.), clip save (to allow saving more patches without increasing the number of scenes, and keeping patches with subtle changes without the need to have a new one) and the acclaimed class/compliant audio...

It is a big seller. Sure there are things to approve but the Fantom is the most usable synth workstation (at the moment). I tried to change my system while my Fantom is away for reapair and tried Nautilus, Krome and Modx but ended in with a Fantom-0. If you're used (and know) it's features you will come back.

Since Zenology 2.0 has arrived and Namm is coming I believe Fantom will receive an update soon.

Hopefully... or may Roland wait for the new Montage?

Cool...

Cool...

With temperatures approaching the highs of the hottest summer I am afraid they are talking Christmas 2023...

I am getting accustomed to seeing an update a month with REAPER.

Anyway, great news.

In the Beginning There Was Void.

Then came Fantom.

And it was good to have a pedal, or even better, a set of pedals.

Some talked about placing it at an angle, because why not ?

Then it was discovered 32 measures caused serious headaches.

Some talked sounds were good but not great.

Digging into the partials was nice but took precious time.

I myself planned not to spend a single additional penny based on it being a synthesizer capable of making nearly any conceivable sound but as the orchestration demanded more and more zones a DAW was a must, recognizing that it is not good for Fantom to be alone and helping it with a little rib coming from the best team I could possibly find after half a year of tests.

REAPER, Rapid Environment for Audio Production, Engineering, and Recording was the one providing all my needs at a very reasonable price, without any little extras on the side, and offering the chance to openly test it without any single kind of restrictions, be them in limiting the number of tracks or timing, something deeply generous and unique that truly helped my testing without any bothering hiccups.

And once your tracks are unlimited in number, why not helping the fellows that keep making great sounds for we to buy?

Fantom, REAPER, virtual instruments.

YUPIIII.

And that is it.

A must improvement for is:

#1 either Fantom has audio tracks and a lineral MIDI sequencer
#2 or, if Roland cannot implement #1, they should add audio class-compliance, so we can link Fantom to an iPad (with a single USB cable) to have audio tracks and linear sequencing in a DAW.

Linear sequencer with loop recording is my number 1 request. Thinking of getting a fantom ex, but this is one thing that I would need to get most out of it.
