I have a Fantom XR that has 6 SRX cards inside (4,6,7,8,9,10). I am thinking about replacing it with a Jupiter XM. Here are the pros and cons I am aware of:
Pros:
Portability so I can play gigs with it
Can hold more expansions than my XR
Has VA synth engine to emulate a few classic synth
Cons:
no software editor and quite hard to edit
SRX-08 does not have a equivalent EXZ
By the way I have done a simple comparison between SRX and EXZ. Ultimate keys does not have an exact equivalent EXZ. If it is divided into EXZ 5 and 8, we are only losing a few waveforms, but there are a lot more patches....
Should I sell my Fantom XR and buy a Jupiter XM?

Re: Should I sell my Fantom XR and buy a Jupiter XM?
Nope.
The Jupiter-Xm has limited memory for expansions, and can only hold a couple if they have a lot of waveforms.
Furthemore, the EXZ expansions binaries are tied to the Roland Cloud user licence you download them from, which prevents their resale.
The Jupiter-Xm is only 4 parts multitimbral + the drumkit part which sounds you can't edit.
It's no substitute to a full 16 parts/128 voices expander with hardware waveforms expansion cards, IMHO.
A totally different kind of fish.
