Jupiter XM - Use one part as a Midi Controller

Post by Ben_Alma »

Hello everyone !

Juste a quick question on the Jupiter X / XM,

Do you know if it is possible to use only one part as a Midi controller ?

I mean, having "part 1" controlling an other Synth (or in my case a Maschine + from Native instruments), and the 4 other parts still working normally on the Jupiter ?

That would help me a lot, I would only need 1 synth on stage :-P

Thanks !

Yes. Each of the four parts can be internal, external, or both.

Can you Quickly explain me how to Do it ?
I struggle to find it on the manual, and to set one of my part as external !

Select the PART you wish to modify.

In SCENE or PART mode, arrow right 3x to the SCENE ZONE page.

Scroll down. Towards the bottom you find the Master Keyboard Controls.

Tx mode:
- Off does not transmit MIDI
- On transmits MIDI on the receive channel, local sound depends on part switch setting
- MKB does not send data to the local zone, sends MIDI on the transmit channel, (works as a zone LOCAL off switch)

MKB Ch:
- Sets the transmit channel when MKB is selected. (This can be different than the receive channel set in SCENE PART
