MC707 and VT4 issue no MIDI

Post by spacetiolet »

I am using an Arturia keystep into my MC707 via midi in and midi out of MC707 into VT4 but the MC707 doesn’t seem to be sending midi information, the vocoder doesn’t work. Now if I go straight into vt4 from the keystep it works immediately. As soon as I press a key the vt4 goes into vocoder and works perfectly. What am I missing i’ve turned on the midi out on the track settings, I have turned on anything midi I could find in main midi settings too and nothing? Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

I've had this working, it definitely works. I've had the VT4 vocoder pitch changing with MIDI sent from a MC707 tone track. Probably 1 of 2 things

1. Find the MIDI recieve channel of the VT4 and set the MC707 track to the same MIDI output channel.

2. The VT4 vocoder could be set to external carrier, set it to internal, at least until you've got it working.

It definitely works, most likely the MIDI channel. By the way, the VT4 sounds fantastic with the Aston Element mic (around £150). Good luck
