Fader specification for Roland MC707

Post by aimnadze »

Hello,

Please, forgive me if it is not the right place to ask a question about device repair.
I've been looking for Roland MC707 fader replacement on the internet and found nothing.

There are no service centers near my country so I'm forced to repair it myself.
I disassembled my device to see it the faders had any number on them.
The faders are marked as "DELTA 3" which doesn't seem to be a part number.

Also I measured the resistance at the terminals using a multimeter and the results are unexpected.
When I move a fader from bottom to top it starts from 245 Ohms,
then goes all the way up to 1000 Ohms, then finally goes down to 0 Ohms.
This very strange. Both healthy and broken faders behave this way.

My questions are:
* Are the faders specific to Roland or is it some kind of a standard?
* Are there replacements that I can buy and install myself?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I'm no expert, but can't you measure the faders impedance, or one that works, and the physical size then try looking for one.

I think a fader is simply a variable resistor, unless that's changed? Been over 20 years since I worked with electronics!
