Connection of electronic drum kit

Does anyone know if I would be able to connect my electronic drum kit to my Fantom 06 to trigger/play a kit in a scene? I am hoping to use the USB MIDI connection but I will have to get a USB A to USB B adaptor as my ekit also has a USB B connection. I want to use my Fantom in a live situation running backing tracks from the pads, playing live keys over the top for some songs and live drums connected by midi for others.

Would I need to get a USB to midi DIN converter to connect inline between the Fantom and my ekit?
